Moseamedi: Maritzburg are ready for Chiefs

Cape Town - Judas Moseamedi believes Maritzburg United are hitting their stride just in time to face Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout semi-finals.

The Team of Choice made a slow start to the season but have found some form in recent weeks and are on a seven-game unbeaten run which includes penalty shootout wins over Bidvest Wits and Highlands Park in the Cup competition.

Now Maritzburg are preparing to clash with Absa Premiership leaders Chiefs on Sunday and Moseamedi reckons it might be time for an upset at Mbombela Stadium.

"With our current form, it's a good time to face Chiefs. We've been winning and our confidence is sky high, so we rely on the very same confidence against Chiefs," Moseamedi told Sowetan Live.

"We've been preparing for the Chiefs game the same way we did for all our past games, and we focus on ourselves not them. The aim is to win at least one cup this season and we have a chance to do that with the Telkom Knockout."

Kick-off is at 15:00.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
