Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp says tagging the club as favourites ahead of TS Galaxy in May's Nedbank Cup final is unwise.
Chiefs are set to face the National First Division mid-table outfit in the final on 18 May at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
It appears to be a great opportunity for the Amakhosi to claim their first silverware since 2015.
With that said, Middendorp takes the view it is too early to start talking about the final and to tag Chiefs as favourites.
The German told reporters: "I do have problems with this questioning (about being favourites).
"I have a little bit of the problem to answer this. I know you want a headline, you need a headline.
"I can't give you this headline. I can't answer this question. I don't want really to do that after finishing a game like this (on Saturday).
"Give me a little bit of time, maybe four days, and then call me again probably I will have an answer.
"At the moment you must understand that I can't deliver a headline that you can you use around three weeks before we go to the final.
"I don't really have time to think about when last we won the cup.
"It's not what I'm paid for. I'm looking at what happened today and looking forward to do better."
Chiefs are next in action in the Premiership on Saturday when they take on Free State Stars at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit. Kickoff is 15:00.
