Maluleka: Playing for Kaizer Chiefs comes with responsibilities"

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka believes the club have an obligation to do well in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Chiefs are set to begin their campaign with a clash against Zanzibar's Zimamoto in a Preliminary Round first leg tie at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday. Kickoff is 19:30

Chiefs are the favourites going into the contest against the Archipelago from the Indian Ocean and are expected to advance over two legs.

The second leg is on 4 December at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar City.

Despite some poor form for the Glamour Boys with a defeat to Orlando Pirates last Saturday in a Telkom Knockout semi-final, Maluleka remains bullish that Chiefs must set out to do well.

He told the side's official website: "All games are important because that's the culture of our club.

"We have to stick together. We have another match on Wednesday and that's what we need to focus on.

"We want to do well in Africa. It will be a step up for us. It's important for the club to succeed in Africa.

"Kaizer Chiefs are one of the biggest clubs in Africa and that comes with responsibilities."
