Kaizer Chiefs clash moved to PE as Nedbank Cup venues confirmed

Cape Town - The Kaizer Chiefs clash against minnows The Magic FC has been moved to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth after a failure to secure an available stadium in Cape Town.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced the 2018/19 Nedbank Cup round of 16 fixtures, dates, venues and kick-off times.

The matches will be played between February 13 - 17 2019.

On-form Black Leopards, under the mentorship of coach Dylan Kerr, will kick off the round of 16 action when they go head-to-head against 2010 Nedbank Cup Champions Bidvest Wits in what is likely to be one of the highly contested fixtures in this round on Wednesday February 13.

On Friday February 15, Cape Town will host two fixtures: at 15:00, Cape Umoya will be up against another side from the National First Division Mbombela United at Athlone Stadium. In the evening (20:00) Cape Town City will play Highlands Park at Cape Town Stadium.

Saturday, February 16 will see three fixtures. Witbank Spurs will play against Lamontville Golden Arrows at Puma Stadium and Chippa United will host Tshakhuma FC at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. Both matches will kick-off at 15:00.

Later at 20:15, Bloemfontein Celtic will host Richards Bay FC at Free State Stadium. Richards Bay cannot be underestimated as they have already eliminated defending champions, Free State Stars in the round of 32.

On Sunday, Cape Town's The Magic FC, the only side from the SAFA lower structures left in the Nedbank Cup, will play the biggest match in their history against Kaizer Chiefs in what will be a David vs Goliath clash at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

The Magic, making their second appearance in the Nedbank Cup, have never reached the round of 16 before.

In another fixture on Sunday, Jomo Cosmos will play TS Galaxy at Makhulong Stadium in another clash of the NFD clubs. Kick-off is at 15:00.
