Cape Town - Wits will travel to Mauritius to take on Pamplemousses in the second-leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary-round qualifier on Wednesday.

The Clever Boys come into the game on the back of a 2-1 victory over Golden Arrows in the Absa Premiership on Saturday. Frank Mhango opened the scoring for Wits before Lehlohonolo Majoro slotted a penalty just before the break. Limbikani Mzava's penalty was only a consolation for the hosts.

Wits have lost only once in their last eight games across all competitions, a 1-0 Nedbank Cup defeat at the hands of Cape Town City, and should be full of confidence as they aim to get past Pamplemousses at Anjalay Stadium.

Meanwhile, the home team have been struggling for consistency in their recent outings. Pamplemousses lost three of their last five games in all competitions, and most recently went down 2-0 to Wits in the first leg of their tie on February 10.

The first-leg clash at Bidvest Stadium saw Kobamelo Kodisang put Wits in front in the 24th minute, before Eleazar Rodgers found the back of the net to secure a comfortable home victory.

Wits coach Gavin Hunt cut a frustrated figure after the first leg, despite winning 2-0. He believes they should have won by a bigger margin.

"This form we are taking from the PSL‚" Hunt said.

"I keep saying every week that the reason we are where we are (on the PSL table) is because of our lack of goalscoring‚ which is what we saw tonight.

"We should have won 10-0. But the form you saw tonight is the form we have in the PSL‚ and that's a problem."
