Hunt hails unsung hero Nange

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt singled out midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange for special praise after his side's 2-0 Nedbank Cup last 16 victory over Chippa United.

Nange scored an excellent long-range goal and delivered a fine all-round performance but perhaps surprisingly the man-of-the-match award went to Mozambican midfielder Elias Pelembe.

"I thought Phathu Nange was outstanding tonight," commented Hunt, during his post-match interview with SuperSport TV.

"What do goalkeepers know about football?," Hunt remarked in a tongue-in-cheek manner referring to ex-goalkeeper and SuperSport commentator William Shongwe, who was on the panel to decide the player of the match.

Wits have joined Mamelodi Sundowns, Highlands Park, Baroka FC, Bloemfontein Celtic, Black Leopards, TS Sporting and Real Kings in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal draw, which will take place on Tuesday evening.
