Cape Town - Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder
Hendrick Ekstein bagged a brace on debut for his club Sabah who compete
in the Azerbaijani Premier League.
Ekstein left Chiefs in April after failing to agree terms on a new
deal and subsequently it was revealed he had signed a lucrative two-year
contract with the outfit from Masazir.
Nonetheless, he has made a positive start to his career in that
country after scoring twice in a pre-season friendly clash against Zire
FC last Saturday.
The brace proved important in the final reckoning as his side eventually prevailed 5-3 on the day.
The player will no doubt hope to build on his two goals ahead of the
2019/20 season in the nation located in the South Caucasus region of
Eurasia at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia.
