Ekstein bags brace on debut in Azerbaijan

Cape Town - Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Hendrick Ekstein bagged a brace on debut for his club Sabah who compete in the Azerbaijani Premier League.

Ekstein left Chiefs in April after failing to agree terms on a new deal and subsequently it was revealed he had signed a lucrative two-year contract with the outfit from Masazir.

Nonetheless, he has made a positive start to his career in that country after scoring twice in a pre-season friendly clash against Zire FC last Saturday.

The brace proved important in the final reckoning as his side eventually prevailed 5-3 on the day.

The player will no doubt hope to build on his two goals ahead of the 2019/20 season in the nation located in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
