Cape Town - Ligue 1 side Montpellier confirmed that attacker Keagan Dolly has undergone a successful operation on a fractured fibula, suffered over the weekend.

Dolly who was handed a place in the starting XI had to be substituted after just 6 minutes after a heavy challenge by Strasbourg midfielder Jeremy Grimm in a 1-1 draw, on Saturday.

The Bafana Bafana international underwent an operation on Monday and looks set to be out of action for the remainder of 2018.

The expected period of recovery for the injury is 2-3 months with the 25-year-old now facing a race against time to be fit for Bafana's last fixture of the year, an AFCON qualifier against Nigeria on November 16.

Dolly will miss Bafana's next two AFCON qualifiers against Seychelles at home then away on October 13 and 16.
