Chiefs to play in Mpumalanga Cultural Experience Cup

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs will continue their preparations for the upcoming season when they take part in the Mpumalanga Cultural Experience Cup on Saturday, July 30.

The Glamour Boys have already participated in two pre-season tournaments as they successfully defended their Maize Cup title with victory over Free State Stars on penalties last weekend.

Chiefs were unable to complete a double-trophy haul after losing 2-1 to fierce rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in the inaugural Shell Helix Ultra Cup on Saturday.

Amakhosi will now look to get back to winning ways when they join fellow Premiership outfit Cape Town City in the Mpumalanga Cultural Experience Cup this weekend.

Also taking part in the competition are National First Division teams Mbombela United and TS Sporting.

The official launch for the tournament is set to take place on Monday with further details of the format set to be announced.

The Citizens are also making progress in their preparations for 2018/19 as they played a behind-closed-doors friendly match against Orlando Pirates at the Cape Town Stadium this past weekend.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
