Chiefs, Bucs and Downs learn next opponents in Africa

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns will face Libya's Al Ahly Benghazi and Orlando Pirates meet Namibia's African Stars in the next round of the CAF Champions League.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs will take on Madagascar's Elgeco Plus in the next stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The so-called big three of South African football eased into the first round with easy wins in their respective preliminary round ties.

Sundowns demolished Leones Vegetarianos 7-1 on aggregate whereas Pirates gave a hiding to Light Stars 8-2 on aggregate.

Meanwhile, Chiefs also cruised into the next stage of the CCC with a 5-2 victory over Zimamoto.

Free State Stars, SA's other representative in the CCC, bowed out after a 1-0 defeat to Mukura.

The next games for all three clubs are two-legged affairs and success could see them advance through to the group stages.

The first leg encounters are set to be played between December 14 and 16.
