Champions League only going to get 'tougher' - Pitso

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane was warned his players to expect the level of opposition in the CAF Champions League to continue improving.

Masandawana suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat to AS Otoho in their first-leg tie, before cruising to a 4-0 triumph in the return leg in Pretoria.

However, Mosimane was less than satisfied with his side's second-half showing at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium and even went so far as to suggest that his team didn't play well after the half-time break.

"It is a long way to the end, it comes with different tactics and different opponents," Mosimane told the club's official website. "It's getting tougher than the game we played (on Saturday).

"I am not saying it was easy, but the resistance was not very big from the opponents, especially in the second half.

"And that is where we should have scored more goals. I was not happy with the second half.

"I was sitting down in the first half, but I didn't in the second half because I don't think my team played well."

Despite his critical assessment of the team's performance, Mosimane did praise them for getting the job done.

"We did what we had to do," he added. "We respected the emblem, especially in the first half and made sure the team had to go to the next round. That was important."
