Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have the opportunity to make a major statement in the CAF Champions League when they face reigning champions Esperance at Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.
Both sides are on four points in Group B as Pirates beat Horoya 3-0 in their last outing, whereas the Tunisian outfit saw off FC Platinum 2-0.
A win for either side in the contest could be a giant step towards qualifying for the knockout stages of Africa's most prestigious club competition.
In team news, the Sea Robbers have added Luvuyo Memela, Wayne Sandilands and Thabo Matlaba to their CCL squad.
Pirates administrative officer Floyd Mbele said: "After extensive consultation with the technical team, I can confirm that we have registered the three players in question into the CAF Champions League squad.
"As you already know, CAF allows clubs to register a total of 30 players for the competition and as a club, we had decided to register only 27 players at the time as we felt this number was sufficient to get us through the preliminary stages of the competition which we did.
"Now that we have to juggle between a congested league season and traveling around the continent for the Champions League, it's important that we have enough players in both competitions to allow the technical team enough depth to compete."
Meanwhile, Esperance brought a 20-man squad into South Africa for the game in Johannesburg.
The club tweeted on Friday that preparations are on course: "Good news from @HiltonSandton: The boys are ready for tomorrow's match."
KickOff is at 21:00.
