Tshwane teams to open Charity Showdown

Johannesburg - University of Pretoria and Mamelodi Sundowns will play in the first semi-final of the Charity Showdown tournament at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Tshwane on Sunday.

The second semifinal will be between Ajax Cape Town and Jomo Cosmos.

This was after the draw which was conducted in Sandton.

After the draw Etv managing director for stations Monde Twala told Sport24 that they are pleased to be part of this tournament which will help raise funds for children who go to school on empty stomachs.

"We are grateful to the four teams and their supporters for agreeing to be part of this Charity Showdown and Edgar funds which will help feed children who go to school but don't have food," Twala said.

“It's an initiative that really works and we invite all the supporters not only for these teams but all football loving people.”
