Soccer-Laduma's website reports, the 24-year-old midfielder’s future has been up in the air for a long-time ever since he left Helsingborg in December, and despite talk of a move to South Africa, the player remained adamant that he wanted to remain in Europe.
However, with the player in the process of recovering from a long-term Achilles injury, it became difficult for him to secure the short-term contract that he wanted, something that seems to have been offered to him by Blavitt.
Goteborg, the most successful Swedish club in Allvenskan history with 18 titles, are believed to have offered Mahlangu the chance to regain his fitness and form and will then allow him to leave for a bigger club should the opportunity arise in the near future.
It was Swedish publication, Aftonbladet, that first reported
the news of Mahlangu’s shock move to Goteborg, although they were not
sure of the exact length of his imminent contract with the club.
