Johannesburg - Stuart Baxter admits he was put through the emotional wringer after seeing Kaizer Chiefs score two injury-time goals to progress to the Nedbank Cup semi-finals with victory over SuperSport United.

According to the website, Saturday's FNB Stadium quarter-final looked to be heading towards extra-time as the scores remained deadlocked at 0-0, but George Lebese left the best for last after twice firing home after the 90 minutes to seal Amakhosi's place in the last-four.

Speaking after the game, Baxter told his club's official website: "It was a typical quarter-final game of a prestigious competition. I'm very happy to reach the semi-finals.

"It was both a relief and jubilation. I am glad we scored two late goals after missing chances in the previous two games."

The Englishman was, however, critical of both sides' performances, adding: "The two teams didn't come out to play with the quality that was needed to win a tie."
