SAFA donate R1m to NMCF

Johannesburg - SAFA have announced that they will donate R1 million to the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund as part of the agreement between the association and the Fund.

On November 12, Bafana Bafana will play Ivory Coast in the Nelson Mandela Challenge Cup in Port Elizabeth.

SAFA vice-president Chief Mwelo Nonkonyana says that they are happy to be part of the people who support the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund. He said it is a gesture towards the former South African president Nelson Mandela.

"We are happy that we can be part of the people who can contribute to the well being of the children in the country. It is good that the game will be played in the province of the world icon's birth place.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to wish Oliver Tambo all the best today(Thursday), which is the day he was born. So on November 12 we should win and bring back smiles to all South Africans after dissapointing them," the vice president said.
