Richards moves to Serie A

Florence - England international defender Micah Richards on Monday agreed to a season's loan to Serie A side Fiorentina from English champions Manchester City.

The 26-year-old, capped 13 times, has gone from being City's player of the year when they won their first Premier League title in 2012 to just a handful of appearances for them in their titlewinning campaign last term as Argentinian rightback Pablo Zabaleta was the undisputed first choice.

Fiorentina, who finished just outside the Champions League spots last season, also signed 25-year-old Slovenian midfielder Jasmin Kurtic on loan from rivals Sassuolo.
