Johannesburg - On Sunday Mamelodi Sundowns will host Platinum Stars at the quarter-final stage of this season’s Nedbank Cup, as both teams look to clinch silverware in the current 2012/13 campaign.
According to the Soccer-Laduma website, Sundowns’ league form has been inconsistent this season, although the side is only two games away from an appearance in the cup final, for a second consecutive year. Dikwena on the other hand have been the surprise package in the Absa Premiership and are currently sat in second place on the log.
Although Downs will be on home turf this Sunday, at Loftus Stadium, coach Pitso Mosimane believes that they will go into the game as the underdogs. The former Bafana Bafana coach says that they are playing against a free scoring team which play a positive brand of football.
“It is a cup game and we want to go through to the next round. The most important thing is to win this game and progress to the next round. We are going into this game as underdogs.
“They have a good coach and I expect a good game on Sunday, which won't be easy for either teams if you look at our last game that we played in Rustenburg in the league. We just have to go out there and fight for a win,” Mosimane said.
