Cape Town - Mamelodi
Sundowns midfielder Themba Zwane believes Orlando Pirates, Kaizer
Chiefs and Cape Town City can still give the Brazilians a run for their
money in the title race.
Currently Sundowns lead the Premiership by five points ahead of second placed Bucs. Chiefs are in fourth while the Citizens are in fifth with both outfits trailing by seven points in the standings.
Zwane told Kickoff.com: "Chiefs, Pirates and Cape Town City are still there. These clubs are on form at the moment. They are winning their games and they are strong, especially Pirates who are looking good at the moment.
"They’ve got their combinations and you can see that the morale in their team is high. They are playing top football. We are looking to make sure that they don’t get closer to us on the log. We just have to keep on winning.
"If we win our games, then we won’t have to worry about who is behind us. It’s possible for us to reach 60 points this season.
"We will fight to the end. We want to win all the games that are left. If we can win five games in a row from now, then we can win another five in a row after that, why not? We just need to focus and work hard."
Downs are set to face Free State Stars, SuperSport United, AmaZulu, Chippa United and Baroka in their next five league outings, with three of those matches being played at home in Pretoria.
