Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bongani Zungu hopes to follow in the footsteps of Yaya Toure and Benni McCarthy as he eyes a switch to European football.
The 23-year-old is reported to be on the verge of a move overseas after being heavily linked with Portuguese side Vitória de Guimarães.
This after Sundowns confirmed that the Bafana Bafana international would leave the club when his contract expired at the end of the current campaign.
"I know that it is not easy to leave South Africa and play in Europe, but I have learnt from Yaya Toure and Benni McCarthy," Zungu told Goal website.
"They said that if you want to succeed in Europe you need to have a strong mentally and take risks.
"If given a chance to move to Europe by Sundowns then I will use those wise words from the two successful players and succeed as well."
