Cape Town - Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer says although he was left impressed by Wednesday's 1-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns, his team's performances will get even better.
Gabadinho Mhango struck in the 30th minute to claim a morale-boosting victory for the Buccaneers over Sundowns at the Orlando Stadium.
Since his arrival, Zinnbauer has led Pirates to three wins from four matches and remains undefeated since the start of his tenure.
The German tactician in a post-match interview claimed that his side were a bit fortunate to walk away with a win but predicted that his side would improve with time.
"We had a bit more luck," Zinnbauer said. "We needed the luck but at the end of the day, we put in a good performance against a very very good team in Sundowns."
Zinnbauer went on to praise the vocal home support that his team received at a packed Orlando Stadium.
"The support here, it's great we needed this and it's beautiful. We need this and it lifted the team and inspired them to keep fighting. We did well without the ball and well with the ball too.
"But we need time not everything is very good. Yes it's good, the performances are coming but we're still making many mistakes but we'll work on this and then we'll challenge."
Pirates next host Highlands Park in an Absa Premiership clash at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 18:00
