Cape Town - Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer has rejected the notion that his charges are in the title fight after claiming a fourth consecutive victory.
The Buccaneers ground out a 1-0 win against a struggling AmaZulu side at Orlando Stadium on Saturday and are now in fourth position, 12 points behind Absa Premiership leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
However, Zinnbauer is not convinced that Pirates can consider themselves in the midst of a title fight and wants them to remain focused on each game as they come.
"No‚" said a chuckling Zinnbauer when asked if his side are in a title fight, as quoted by TimesLive.
"We're looking at our next games and they'll be difficult games.
"We have three points more and I'm happy about this‚ but we can't at the moment say we're fighting to win the title.
"We have not so many points for this. When we have a chance I will say we're fighting for the title.
"That's what we want but at the moment it's too early to speak about the title. We're concentrating on the next game."
The Soweto giants will travel to Chippa United for their next league encounter this coming Saturday.
