Zinnbauer: I couldn't be happier at Pirates

Josef Zinnbauer is thoroughly enjoying his time with 'special club' Orlando Pirates.

The 49-year-old German coach took over in December and guided Bucs to a six-match winning run.

They entered the enforced break, as a result of the coronavirus, in fourth place on 40 points, just eight points behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs.

Speaking to New Frame, Zinnbauer said the quality at Pirates has made it easy for him to implement his methods.

"The team was open to new things and they have good quality. They were open to new skills, a new system and new ideas. I had a lot of ideas and they had a lot of information about the other teams."

The former Hamburg and St Gallen boss added: "Orlando Pirates is a special club, it is a big club in Africa and even though I haven’t been here for a long time, I have a good feeling about my time here.

"The supporters are unbelievable. I am so happy that I have a good staff, good players and a good club."
