Zinnbauer defends misfiring Mhango

Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer has defended Gabadinho Mhango after the striker fired another blank in the goalless draw against Golden Arrows on Saturday.

The Malawian forward is currently the Absa Premiership's leading scorer with 14 goals so far this season but has failed to hit the back of the net in his last three games.

Mhango was booed by his own supporters after he was substituted against Arrows but Zinnbauer has leapt to the defence of his forward.

The Buccaneers mentor said after the game on Saturday: "I like it when Gaba scores.

"For me, it is important to focus on all the players in the team.

"We have other players that can score. It is important that they focus (and also help Gaba).

"Hopefully, next week against Mamelodi Sundowns, he scores but we have other players that can also scores."

Pirates will look to get back to winning ways when they take on Sundowns on March 17 in a vital league encounter.

Mhango netted the winner when the teams last met earlier this season.
