Zakri set for Sundowns move

Cape Town - ASEC Mimosas have confirmed that star forward Yannick Zakri has agreed to join Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Brazilians have yet to confirm the move for the Ivory Coast international but have been long-term admirers of the 25-year old, according to reports in the local media.

The length of the contract and transfer fee has yet to be revealed, but ASEC did bid farewell to their midfield talisman via their official Facebook account.

"After the transfer of Siaka Tiene and Soumahoro Bangaly, the attacker Zakri Krahire Yannick will continue his career at this great club, the champions of South Africa and current semi-finalist of the Champions League," read the statement on their Facebook account.

"Indeed, the two clubs that are working together for several years have reached the final transfer of player. The Asec Mimosas wish him good luck for the rest of his career."

Zakri has scored once in seven caps for The Elephants since making his international debut earlier this year.
