Cape Town - Newly-signed Maritzburg United striker
Yannick Zakri is looking forward to a new challenge in KwaZulu-Natal
after his struggles at Chloorkop.
The Ivorian has joined the Team of Choice on a two-year contract from Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Zakri moves to the Fadlu Davids side after a loan spell at Ajax Cape Town in the second half of the 2017/18 season.
Zakri, who spent the second half of last season at loan with Ajax Cape Town, stated that his unsuccessful stay at Sundowns is a closed book and is eager to get going for Fadlu Davids' side..
"I'm happy with the team. We can work together. We can do the job together. I'm happy with the coach, with everyone, he told the club's official website.
"On the training field, the coach is a very good person. We are training very hard on and off the field. Fadlu is a very nice person.
"We must forget about Sundowns and Ajax and let's focus on Maritzburg, let's focus on the team, let's help the team and we will see what happens later.
"This is not about only me. It's about the team. That's why I say we will work together, we will fight together to win games together. Alone I can't do anything."
