Cape Town - SuperSport United veteran Reneilwe Letsholonyane believes the club are enduring a poor season as they have not won any trophies but they will try to fly high in the league.
United lost the final of the MTN8 to Cape Town City on penalties and were knocked out of the early stages of both the Telkom Knockout and the Nedbank Cup.
With the Premiership crown not a realistic target at this stage due to Bidvest Wits' healthy advantage, it appears the team can only play for a higher league position.
Matsatsantsa take on Orlando Pirates on Wednesday evening at the Mbombela Stadium from 19:30, before another stiff test against Baroka on Saturday.
The former Kaizer Chiefs playmaker said: "Definitely, it's a bad season. Normally for the past few seasons we have been reaching finals or winning a trophy, but this season we have not winning anything.
"What's left now is the league and we are fighting to compete in the league."
"But in terms of the season overall it's a bad season because we have nothing to show.
"We can't say it's a good season when we have nothing to show. We have a challenge now that's left, which is about 10 league games.
"We are taking each day as it comes. We want to collect maximum points and finish as high as we can."
