Xulu not part of Amakhosi plans

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs boss Bobby Motaung has confirmed that Siyanda Xulu will not be part of Kazier Chiefs first-team plans for the new season.

The South Africa international was transfer listed following his failure to command a place in the starting XI after a few sub standard performances early in the campaign last term.

Motaung says it wouldn't be fair for a player of the former FC Rostov defenders' caliber to be playing second fiddle at the Soweto giants.

"From the reports we got from the technical staff and the recommendations and what we discussed with the player, it's only fair that we also release a quality player of his calibre to play elsewhere," the Chiefs manager of football told reporters.

'Bobsteak' also admitted that his injury problems in his debut campaign with the club affected his influence on the team as he wasn't able to received regular game time and regain confidence.

"Unfortunately, he got injured during the season and adaptation was a bit difficult for him and it's only fair for a player to go somewhere to compete and express himself, instead of keeping him here when he's also unhappy and also there are doubts from the technical point of view."
