Wits unveil 11 new signings

Cape Town - Absa Premiership giants Wits have strengthened their squad with 11 new players ahead of the upcoming 2018/19 season.

The Students finished a disappointing 13th position in the league last season after failing to defend the crown they won for the first time in 2016/17.

Head coach Gavin Hunt began early with his recruitment securing the services of Robyn Johannes from Cape Town City.

Vuyo Mere also put pen to paper on a deal following Platinum Stars' relegation to the National First Division (NFD).

The other players Wits have secured are Haashim Domingo, Bantu Mzwakali, Simon Murray, Terrence Dzvukamanja, Mxolisi Macupu, Lehlohonolo Nonyane, Brighton Mhlongo, Gift Motupa and Deon Hotto.

Wits start their season on Saturday, August 4 against Free State Stars at the Bidvest Stadium.

Kick-off is at 18:00.
