Wits to split R1.5m prize

Cape Town - Gavin Hunt has indicated that Bidvest Wits intend to split the winnings of the Q-Innovation Quarter One prize between the players.

According to KickOff, Wits’ 3-1 victory over Jomo Cosmos ensured that the Johannesburg club claim top spot in the first of four Q-Innovation Quarter One prizes.

“We won the Q1, so that’s a good incentive to the players and a little bit of extra cash - good for them, but let’s move on,” Hunt said.

The Clever Boys notched up 19 points with Platinum Stars finishing four points adrift in second place.

It is reported that each registered Wits player is set to receive in the region of R50 000.
