Wits to meet City in MTN8 semi-final

Cape Town - Cape Town City will be put to the test in the MTN8 Cup semi-final as they have been drawn against defending champions Bidvest Wits.

The Clever Boys were take to a penalty shoot out on Friday evening against Golden Arrows but remain on course to defend their title.

Meanwhile, Benni McCarthy's first competitive match in charge of the Citizens ended in a 1-0 victory for the Cape side at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

SuperSport United held firmly on to a 1-0 lead against Kaizer Chiefs while Maritzburg United surprised powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns.

The MTN8 semi-final first-leg will take place on the weekend of 26/27 August with the second-leg to be held on 8/9 September.
