Coach Gavin Hunt and his charges are set to pocket R10 million for winning their maiden PSL title.

Wits secured a 2-0 victory over Polokwane City at the Bidvest Stadium, while defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns held 2-2 to Maritzburg United.

The win for Wits coupled with the stalemate for Pitso Mosimane's men was enough to give Wits their first title in their 96-year history.

The Clever Boys have not won the Absa Premiership since the club was founded in 1921 and become the seventh club to win the prestigious trophy.

The title also means that Wits qualify for the 2018 CAF Champions League.

Wits will receive the PSL trophy - and their multi-million Rand cheque - after their final game on Saturday, May 27 when they face Kaizer Chiefs.

Kick-off is at 15:00.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
