Cape Town - Bidvest Wits will look to retain their place at the top of the Absa Premiership when they host Golden Arrows at Bidvest Stadium.

Wits recorded their seventh win of the season and extended their unbeaten run to eight matches with a 3-1 win over Jomo Cosmos on November 8.

The Johannesburg side has claimed 13 points from five home matches this season.

The Clever Boys are placed first on the Absa Premiership log with 23 points from 10 matches.

Arrows suffered their third loss of the season when they were beaten 3-1 at Kaizer Chiefs on November 3.

The Durban side has claimed seven points from five away matches this season.

Abafana Bes’thende are placed seventh on the Absa Premiership log with 14 points from nine matches.

In head-to-head stats, Wits and Arrows have met in 24 league matches since 2001/02.

The Clever Boys have 14 wins compared to four for Abafana Bes’thende, while six matches have been drawn.

Wits have won eight of their 12 home matches against Arrows, suffering just one defeat in the process.

When the teams last met in the 2013/14 season, the Clever Boys completed a league ‘double’ by winning 1-0 both home and away.

Wits have won their last four successive league matches against the Durban team.
