Cape Town - Bidvest Wits came back from a goal down to beat Bloemfontein Celtic 3-2 in their action-packed Absa Premiership clash on Wednesday night.
The Clever Boys hit the ground running in front of their home support and found the back of the net in the 13th minute. Elias Pelembe cut the ball back across goal from the left channel and Phathutshedzo Nange placed his shot into the top corner to make it 1-0.
Wits were in the ascendancy for most of the first half as they used the entire width of the pitch with speedy players on the flanks while Celtic struggled to find their footing.
The hosts took their slender lead into the dressing room and came close three minutes into the second half but their advantage didn't last long as Phunya Sele Sele rose from their slumber.
In the 51st minute the teams were back on level terms thanks to a composed finish from Menzi Masuku, who placed his shot after Siphelele Luthuli's low cross fell perfectly for him.
The goal gave Celtic much-needed belief and they started taking control of the game. They took the lead for the first time in the 77th minute thanks to Andile Fikizolo and looked set for an impressive win away from home.
However, the hosts had different ideas and responded with great conviction. Haashim Domingo levelled matters in the 81st minute to give the Clever Boys hope of a late winner, and that's exactly what happened next.
In the 85th minute Gift Motupa made his presence felt in front of goal as he found the back of the net to complete a quickfire comeback and secure three vital points for the Absa Premiership title challengers.
