Cape Town - Bidvest Wits continued their winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Maritzburg United to extend their lead at the top of the Premiership standings.
The Team of Choice nearly went behind as Richard Ofori's clearance fell to Gabadinho Mhango outside the area, but the winger's attempted lob from distance failed to hit the net, before Thulani Hlatshwayo hit the woodwork moments soon after.
Into the final quarter of the second stanza, Siphesihle Ndlovu regained the ball from midfield and found Justice Figareido with a well-weighted through ball, but goalkeeper Darren Keet did well to deny the Maritzburg forward.
After a quiet spell in the half, Wits launched a quick counter-attack ten minutes after the break when Murray's through ball sent Dzvukamanja through on target, but Richard Ofori rushed off his line to clear the situation.
Substitute Lehlohonolo Majoro proved to be the hero in the 80th minute as he found space in the area, before skipping past Ofori to finish with precision.
Soon after Wits were handed a penalty as Rushine De Reuck handled in the area.
However, Majoro saw his shot saved by Ofori from the spot as it ended 1-0 on the night.
The result sees the Students go five points clear of Orlando Pirates at the top of the Premiership standings.
