Wits, Baroka share spoils

Johannesburg - Bidvest Wits continued their resurgence in the Absa Premiership as they earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Baroka FC at Bidvest Stadium on Friday night.

The defending league champions, who spent much of the first half of the season in a relegation battle, got off to a flying start when Sifiso Myeni opened the scoring after just 11 minutes.

However, the hosts were pegged back four minutes before half-time as Gift Motupa converted from the spot to clinch a share of the spoils for the improving Bakgaga, who remain in seventh place, three points clear of Wits in eighth.

Gavin Hunt's side came into the clash on the back of a seven-match unbeaten run in the top flight, while Baroka hadn't lost in their last four outings.
