WATCH: Pirates hooligans invade Loftus

Cape Town - Disgruntled Orlando Pirates fans rushed onto the field and stopped play as Mamelodi Sundowns thrashed the Buccaneers 6-0 in their Absa Premiership clash at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.

Pirates had a few good moments early in the game, but Sundowns soon found their rhythm and went on to dominate the opening half with two goals, courtesy of Themba Zwane and Percy Tau.

The Brazilians added their third goal on the hour mark (Ricardo Nascimento) and by then had broken Pirates' spirit and went on to net a further three goals, through Thapelo Morena (2) and Tau.

The match was delayed by the crowd invasion in the 82nd minute for close to an hour before the last eight minutes were completed.

Meanwhile, the Premier Soccer League has released a statement regarding the 'acts of hooliganism' that took place at Loftus Versfeld.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
