Vilakazi hopes the goals will flow soon

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi says that once he gets his first goal this season, they 'will keep on coming'.

Vilakazi has made a positive contribution at Sundowns this season and was named as Man of the Match after Sunday's 1-0 win over Golden Arrows.

He has featured in eight of their 11 league games, the Pretoria outfit going top of the table after the Arrows victory.

The attack-minded Bafana Bafana midfielder is, however, yet to get on the score-sheet this season, a statistic he admits he's not happy about.

"Personally it was a fair game for myself and it would have been nice to get a goal. But we have to keep pushing," he said.

"You have to go through the tough times, you have to go through challenges where I haven't scored up to so far.

"I will keep on pushing and somewhere somehow it's going to open up and once it opens up the goals will keep on coming."

The Brazilians take on a resurgent Maritzburg United in Tshwane on Wednesday night.

Kick off is at 19:30.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
