Cape Town - Baroka FC maintained their unbeaten start to the new Premiership season as they recorded a 2-0 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic at the Free State Stadium on Wednesday.
Goals either side of the break from Sipho Moeti and Mpho Kgaswane secured all three points for Bakgaga as they moved into a three-way tie with Golden Arrows and Orlando Pirates at the league summit.
Siwelele saw their own undefeated run come to an end, although they are down in 10th place after winning just one of their opening four encounters, having played one game less.
Both teams came into the match on the back of a win in the league last time out, but there was little to separate them in the first-half before Moeti opened the scoring two minutes prior to the break.
Lucky Nguzana had gone close for the visitors with a header in the 27th minute that just missed the target, but Moeti made no mistake 15 minutes later as he slotted past Patrick Tignyemb.
Veselin Jelusic's side looked for a way back into the contest after the restart as they began to lay siege to the Baroka goal, but Virgil Vries stood firm at the back.
The visiting keeper was bailed out by his defence just three minutes into the second-half, before pulling off a fine save to deny Alfred Ndengane on 57 minutes.
Celtic were camping in the opposition half, but they struggled with the final ball. They went close again with eight minutes left on the clock when Lucky Baloyi glided a header narrowly wide from a corner.
However, Kgoloko Thobejane's men took the wind out of their sails with a second goal at the death, Kgaswane finding the back of the net to make it three wins on the spin.
