United eager to build momentum

Cape Town - SuperSport United will look to continue their upward momentum in the Absa Premiership when they host Chippa United at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

SuperSport claimed a third win from their last five league matches by beating Golden Arrows 3-0 away on March 19.

The Tshwane side has claimed 12 points from 11 home matches this season.

Matsatsantsa are placed 10th on the Absa Premiership log with 30 points from 23 matches.

Chippa played to a second successive league draw when they were held 2-2 at home by Maritzburg United on March 20.

The Eastern Cape side has claimed 10 points from 11 away matches this season.

The Chilli Boys are placed sixth on the Absa Premiership log with 33 points from 23 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Chippa and SuperSport have met in five league matches since 2012/13.

Matsatsantsa have an unbeaten record in the sequence, with four wins to their name and one draw from the teams’ first meeting.

SuperSport have won both of their two previous home matches against Chippa.

When the teams met earlier this season, Matsatsantsa claimed a 2-0 away win in the Eastern Cape.

The teams’ five league encounters have produced 13 goals.
