Tshabalala: Kaizer Chiefs as professional as European clubs

Cape Town - Erzurumspor midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala has claimed that his former club, Kaizer Chiefs, can match European teams in terms of professionalism.

The 33-year-old left Amakhosi after 11 and a half years for Turkey, but speaking to Robert Marawa on Radio 2000, he revealed that the level of professionalism he has experienced there isn't new to him.

"Their professionalism is good, and to be honest, in South Africa, especially Chiefs, it's like we are at the same level of professionalism," said Tshabalala when asked what has stood out about his new club's approach compared to what he was used to.

"The facilities are the best. Everything is the best here. It's the same that we have at Kaizer Chiefs as well."

His representative, Jazzman Mahlakgane, has revealed his relief at the completion of the deal to send his client to Erzurumspor after tricky negotiations with a vice-president who did not understand English.

He has claimed that Tshabalala is already a hit in his new country, revealing: "Having seen the training session, having seen the reception, I mean, this man has become the King of this place.

"In fact, one of the official board members said to him early on: 'Shabba, if you help this team, because they depend on you, to become what they think they can be, you will be the legend of Turkey for the rest of your life.'"
