Cape Town - Orlando Pirates head coach Eric Tinkler said his side deserved more from their 1-0 loss against Bidvest Wits at the Bidvest Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Pirates fell to defeat after James Keene scored in the first half, even though the Buccaneers controlled most of the game and created numerous chances.
The loss comes after Pirates notched up four straight wins in all competitions, including a 5-0 hammering of Jomo Cosmos in the league on Saturday.
"The way we conceded the goal [was disappointing], but I also think they showed a lot more aggression in getting to the ball first," he told KickOff.
"We looked a little bit lethargic in the beginning of the game, although we did create one or two chances - we hit the post - in the first-half.
"Second-half was far better from us. [Wits goalkeeper] Moeneeb [Josephs] made two great saves; I don't think Brighton [Mhlongo] was tested once in the second half.
"It's just that our crossing was poor, our final ball was poor, the quality of our corners were poor, the quality of our set-pieces were poor, when they were actually very good against [Jomo] Cosmos.
"That was a bit disappointing for me but it was a far better performance in the second half, and we probably deserved more."
