Cape Town - SuperSport
United coach Eric Tinkler believes his side can win Saturday's opening
Premiership clash, despite six losses in a row against Mamelodi
Sundowns.
The Brazilians have completely dominated the Tshwane Derby in the
last three seasons, winning all six matches between the two Pretoria
outfits during this time period.
Gavin Hunt was the last SuperSport coach to beat the African
champions in 2013, and previous coach Stuart Baxter also felt the full
force of Pitso Mosimane's team when he oversaw a 5-0 thrashing earlier
this year.
Nonetheless, Tinkler, who guided his side to a 1-0 win over Kaizer
Chiefs in the MTN8 in his first official match in charge, remains
optimistic.
"Of course, I have belief that we can win," Tinkler told the Sowetan.
"My objective is to win every game and we have to go there thinking
we can do it," Tinkler said.
"But we are talking about Sundowns here, a
team with great quality."
Saturday's encounter will take place at Lucas Moripe Stadium in
Atteridgeville.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
