Tinkler to work on Bucs defence

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler has vowed to tighten-up the defence ahead of the Nedbank Cup final on 28 May.

Tinkler is working with his team to improve their defending at set-pieces before their final showdown with SuperSport United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The Buccaneers will enter the encounter keen to redeem themselves with a cup title after a long and gruelling season.

"I thought there was a lot of positives from the game. We knew coming in to the game it was important not to lose," Tinkler told KickOff.

"The plan was to go there and make sure we don't concede and that would guarantee our position in the top eight. So if you asked me before the game that I will be happy with the draw, I would have said yes I'm very happy with the draw.

"But after watching the performance and the way we were going forward, I felt we deserved to win it. But defensively we let ourselves down on two occasions. That was disappointing but now we need to learn from that because we will be playing against the same team."
