Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler admits conceding in the dying minutes of the CAF Confederation Cup final first-leg against Etoile du Sahel was a big let down.
Etoile grabbed an equaliser in the 85th minute at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday, after Pirates had gone ahead in the 36th minute through a thunderbolt from Thamsanqa Gabuza.
The Tunisians now have the advantage going into the second-leg on November 29, due to their away goal, leaving Tinkler ruing their late lapse.
"It was exactly what we expected, they are a very good team defensively, they make it very difficult for you to break them down and they look to play on the counter," Tinkler said after the game.
"We obviously let ourselves down in the dying minutes with the set-piece, which we knew was one of their threats but I thought they got a bit of a lucky bounce and we got punished.
"It ended 1-1, I can't fall fault the boys, I think they all worked extremely hard, nothing gained nothing lost.
"We need to go there and get a goal and we are capable of doing that and then we're back in the tie."
