Cape Town - Looking to erase the disappointment of the Confederation Cup final defeat, SuperSport coach Eric Tinkler is set to ring the changes when his side play Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday.
Matsatsantsa ended their nine-month African adventure when they drew 0-0 with TP Mazembe in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final in Pretoria on Saturday night, allowing the club from the DR Congo to claim a 2-1 aggregate victory.
With concerns that the defeat could take it's toll on his players, Tinkler is expected to make significant alterations to his team for their domestic Absa Premiership match against Ajax at the Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday.
"I am looking for a positive response. We'll see if we can get that when we play against Ajax. Then you will know how it has affected the team, emotionally and psychologically," he said.
"Obviously we plan to make quite a few changes for that game because we have brought in quite a number of new faces into the squad.
"I think that we need to refresh this squad a little bit. Now we can really start focusing on our league campaign. That becomes the main objective right now."
The Tshwane club will be playing catch-up in the league - to date they have only played five matches, while their Absa Premiership rivals have played between nine and 12 games.
The 2017 MTN8 champions are in 13th position on the table, with 10 points, nine points behind leaders Baroka FC who have played seven games more.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
