Tinkler looking to steal third place

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler says that mathematically they still have a chance to break into the Absa Premiership top three.

According to KickOff, Tinkler admits that if they have set themselves a target of breaking into the top three before the close of the season.

"That's a target. We will set the target while it is mathematically possible," Tinkler says.

"There is actually a big gap between ourselves and obviously Platinum Stars and Bidvest Wits.

"There is a big gap that we have to catch up and unfortunately, we've to rely on certain clubs doing us a favours which I hoped Chiefs would have done against Platinum Stars but it didn't happen."

Pirates are eager to break into the top three with playing in Africa guaranteed.

He adds: "What is important is we worry about ourselves and try to collect as many points as we can and see where we end up at the end of the season.

"That's the target we set ourselves obviously."
