Cape Town - Maritzburg United coach Eric Tinkler is still confident that his side will pick up enough points to avoid relegation this season.
The Team of Choice have had an almighty struggle this campaign and find themselves bottom of the table, four points from safety, with only seven games remaining.
Tinkler, who joined the KwaZulu-Natal club in January, was disappointed with the 1-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday but says it can take "one moment" for the season to turn around.
The former Bafana midfielder said: "We had one point in our pocket and we gave it away. At this stage of the season, that's very expensive because we are running out of games.
"We've looked to try to close the gap with the teams above us. Highlands Park did us a favour against Baroka.
"We could have closed that gap by picking up something and we didn't.
"Two wins (in a row) is just what you need. It can take one moment. I believe that will be the change that we need."
Maritzburg's task to avoid the drop will not get any easier as their next game is against defending league champions Sundowns on Tuesday.
