Cape Town - Eric Tinkler was thrilled with Orlando Pirates' performance against Jomo Cosmos on Saturday, but felt they could have scored even more than the five goals they plundered at the Orlando Stadium.
The Buccaneers ran rampant in Soweto this weekend, with Ayanda Gcaba, Sifiso Myeni, Mpho Makola and Tendai Ndoro all finding the back of the net before the half-time break.
Gift Motupa eventually added the fifth in second-half injury time, and while delighted with their overall showing, Tinkler was disappointed to see the Sea Robbers take their foot off the gas in the second period.
"I thought the first half performance was very, very good, and the chances we created we put in the back of the net," Tinkler told SuperSport.
"That was what was important and I explained that to the players ahead of the game, that if we played with a lot of width and if the quality of the delivery into the box was good then we would score.
"Slightly disappointed in the second half, I thought we should have done a little bit better, but it was always going to be difficult to try and motivate them, knowing that they were 4-0 up at half-time."
