Cape Town - Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler has reserved praise for Thato Mokeke after his superb performance in the 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday.
Michelle Katsvairo opened the scoring for Chiefs just three minutes in at the FNB Stadium, but Matthew Sim equalised in the 53rd minute to earn City a point which took them to the top of the Premiership standings.
Mokeke won the man-of-the-match award and Tinkler told KickOff: "Thato, I must congratulate him because, since he's joined me [at the club], I think I've played him everywhere barring striker.
"Every time he's done a fantastic job for me, and there's a lot of room for improvement. I thought, going forward he could have been a lot better.
"There were times when he needed to be looking to provide a lot more width, overlapping Aubrey Ngoma, but he tended to play the safe option.
"And then obviously the crosses into the box, those are thing he can certainly improve on, but he's a hard worker and technically a very good player.
"I'm happy for him but overall, like I said, for me the team didn't perform well."
